John H. Moon III is just a guy with a camera, who sometimes rambles on about stuff on the internet. In his free time he is a father, a husband, a lawyer, a photographer, and a Texan.
Hi. My name is John H. Moon III and you’ve stumbled upon my website.
I figured I’d start off by telling you what this is and why it’s here. This website is devoted to promoting my photography, photography in general, and teaching you how to take better pictures. That’s it.
Photography is very important to me. I think photography is amazing. One gets to take a fleeting moment, one that will never ever happen again in human history, and preserve it for the rest of time. This may not seem like a big deal at first, but let me explain.
My mother passed away when I was young (mid-twenties) and what meant the most to me after she passed away were those fleeting moments, captured on film, and preserved forever. To me, that’s the most incredible thing about photography and what my photography tends to be about: taking everyday moments that mean nothing at the time and preserving them for when they mean everything later.
I’ll get into all this a lot more in the coming weeks, but that’s what this site is about. This is the introduction. I hope you enjoy it.
