2026 Week 35
I’m not entirely sure what I’m doing with this site yet. I actually just had a conversation with my wife about this.
The problem is that I got entirely dissatisfied with the state of internet photography. I would post to Facebook, and for a while that was great. It was a way to have my family and friends see my pictures and comment on them. Now however, Facebook is more algorithm slop that anything else. I’m more likely to see something from some “content creator” than something from my friends or family or than they are from me. It sucks.
Instagram isn’t much better, to be honest. I would post an image and within seconds I would have comments and messages from total strangers, which wasn’t, in and of itself, a bad thing. It was all a little generic. Lots of fire emojis, lots of thumbs up emojis. . . Lots of emojis in general. I also noticed that these same individuals would follow me, for a while. They would then unfollow me when it was apparent that I wasn’t following them back.
This wasn’t a major problem to me. Follow me. Don’t. I don’t really care. However, the Machiavellian nature of these interactions for something that absolutely doesn’t matter turned me off of the site entirely. That and the algorithm slop, but that’s everywhere nowadays.
Not here though. Just my photographs and whatever other crap I feel like posting here. I hope you enjoy.
